Frances Everson

Frances Everson transitioned from this life on January 29, 2022 after an extended illness.  She was born June 7, 1949 in Atlanta, GA to the late Rev. James C. and Mary Helen English.  Frances was raised in White Plains, GA by her grandparents, Rev. C.C. and Easter English.  The family later reunited in Mansfield, OH.

Frances graduated from Malabar H.S. in 1967.  After graduating, she was employed by The Pepsi Cola Co.  She later became employed by United Telephone Co., during her employment there, she met a special group of co-workers/friends, that have shared a special bond for over 40 yrs., they still meet monthly for lunch and continue to check on one another.

Frances’ passion for travel started her career as a Travel Agent.  She attended Travel Agency School in Atlanta, GA, then relocated to Columbus, OH in the same profession.  Later, moved back to Mansfield, OH and became employed by AAA as a Travel Agent.  Later, she became employed by Job & Family Services, leaving due to illness.

She was passionate about shopping, and had an “eye” for creating classy, coordinated fashionable attire, “she was sharp as a tack.”  She enjoyed bowling and was an avid reader.

Frances was baptized at Rock Hill Baptist Church, White Plains, GA at an early age (where her grandfather, Rev. C.C. English was the pastor).  She continued her spiritual growth with her family at Shiloh Baptist Church, Pastor, the late Rev. J.L. Outlaw and the present pastor, Bishop William W. Morris, Jr.  Frances later united with Oasis of Love where the late Bishop Walter E. Jordan, I and the late Walter E. Jordan, II were the pastors.  Presently, Pastor Raymond Cochran, Jr.

Frances leaves to cherish her memory, six sisters:  Patricia A. (Joseph) Johnson, Ontario, OH; Janice D. English, Decatur, GA; Theresa D. Thompkins, Johns Creek, GA; Shirley English and Brenda L. (Lester) Clancy, Sr., Mansfield, OH; Yvonne (Harry) Wilson, Havelock, NC.  One stepson, Evan Caines, Houston, TX.  A host of nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews and friends, including her former husband, William (Winky) Everson.  Preceded in death by her parents, Rev. James C. and Mary English, paternal grandparents, Rev. C.C. and Easter English; maternal grandparents, Richard and Mary Key; nephew, Michael A. Boone, Jr.  Graveside service:  Friday, February 18, 2022, 11:00 a.m. – Mansfield Memorial Park, 2507 Park Ave. West, Mansfield, OH 44906.
