Frank Andrew King Sr.

Frank Andrew King was born in Steubenville, Ohio on November 15, 1962 to the union of Maxie and Shirley (Royster) King.  

Frank attended Steubenville Schools where he excelled in sports on the state level. Frank enjoyed singing and was a member of the choir in high school and at church.

Frank was a Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. He moved to Columbus in 1988 and was married that same year. Frank studied at Columbus State Community College and was a mentor of the Big Brothers Program.

Frank loved his family and enjoyed being a father, grandfather and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to dance, grilling, playing backgammon, and keeping busy.

Frank worked in the mental health field for over 30 years. He received many awards and accolades while working with the mentally challenged. He enjoyed coaching his clients, finding employment for them, and empowering them to feel confident.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, Maxie King; brother, Charles Sr.; Nephew, Charles Jr.; Godfather, Floyd Owens Sr.; in-laws, E.D. and Rosie Peterson; sister-in-law, Pamela Peterson and brother-in-law Phillip Peterson.

Frank leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 32 years Tammy; children, Maya and Frank Andrew II A.K.A Drew of Columbus, Ohio; mother, Shirley; brother Floyd King, Sr., sisters, Cynthia (Robert) King, Shirlene (James) Smith Jr., Diane King of Yonkers, NY; in laws, Joe (Nami) Peterson, of San Diego, California, Helen Peterson of Columbus, Ohio.

Frank’s pride and joy were children and grandchildren, Amari, Kyah, Kyrie and Kalien.
