Obituary for Frank Dillon “FD” Bonham

Frank Dillon “FD” Bonham, a cherished member of the community, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away on June 21, 2024, at MedCentral Hospital in Mansfield, Ohio. Born in Mansfield on November 9, 1956, FD moved through life with an open heart and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones. He was always ready to share a smile with those he came in contact with. His hugs were legendary and conveyed the love he had in his heart for you the moment you received it.

He was a giant of a man, both in stature and personality. FD never met a stranger and was always ready to support those around him. He definitely worked as hard as he played. He spent many years dedicated to his role as an assembly worker at Tappan Stove Co. His commitment to his work was paralleled by his devotion to his family and his passion for his hobbies, such as fishing and cooking on the grill, which brought great joy to his life and those he shared those moments with.

FD was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Mansfield and often spoke highly of his pastor at that time, Reverend Larson.

He leaves behind his wife, Deborah Rooks-Bonham, sons Justin (Teresa) Rooks, Franklin (Damond) Bonham, Sidney Bonham, Brendan Bonham, and Fontel Bonham; grandchildren, Ja’Mae Rooks, Jusilynn Rooks, Octavia Taylor, Rashuad Bonham, Janiyyah Brooks, Gianni Bonham, Christian Joshua, Nylah Bonham, Skylar Bonham Ezra Bonham, Adrian Tubbs, Sydney Bonham, Queston Taylor, and Arix Taylor, five great-grandchildren, sisters Janice Collier and Cassaundra Chester, brothers Donald Feagin, Walter (Cynthia) Bonham, James (Cheri) Bonham, Willie Chester; great-uncle RD Feagin, uncle David Stephens, aunt Peggy Brooks, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and family members that loved and adored him. Last, but most certainly not least, best friend and partner-in-crime Bob Lemon.

He was preceded in death by grandfather Ulee (Mary) Feagin, mother Vivian Chester (Feagin), father JD Bonham, stepfather Willie Chester, paternal grandmother Irene Jackson, Brother Louis Bonham, sister Dan’Neice Johnson and best friends Sidney White and Bobby Hunter.
