Franklin D. Mclean

Franklin Doneal McLean was born on May 15, 1956 in Dunn, N.C. to the late Harold James and Romelia McLean. He was one of eight siblings of three girls and five boys.

 

At a very young age he met Brenda Ridgeway. From that union came his oldest daughter Andretta. Later he met and married Delores Clegg. Together they had one daughter Romelia McLean of Houston, Texas, and two sons Franklin (Kierra) McLean of Columbus, Ohio, and Joshua (Lisa) McLean of Houston, Texas, and 9 grandchildren.

 

He attended South High School. After high school he attended Iowa State University where he played basketball. After returning to Columbus, Ohio Franklin took up the lifelong job of being a roofer which he enjoyed about 35 years he also enjoyed lifting weights and you could catch him singing a song with his soft voice because he loved to sig. He loved being a father and a grandfather. He attended the Power house and Independent Missionary Church of God and Christ under the leadership of Elder Willie Sammo, Elder Willie Williams, and superintendent Lawrence Howard Jr.

 

He is preceded in death by parents, oldest sister Helen James, oldest brother Rudolph McLean, and older brother Willie McKrimmon.

He leaves to cherish his memory sisters Susie McLean, Tamika McLean of Columbus, Ohio, brothers James (Ronda) McKrimmon, Thomas (Vernice) McLean of Columbus, Ohio, special aunt Mary Crockett, special friend Lisa Butler and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at Marlan J. Gary Funeral Home The Chapel of Peace North 2500 Cleveland Ave on December 21, 2017  11:00AM Wake and 12:00 Service
