George Robert Stewart Jr

George Robert Stewart Jr., was born February 2, 1957 in Williamson, West Virginia to George Robert Stewart Sr. and Gloria J. (Lee) Stewart. His was the 5th of 7 siblings. George departed this life on Monday March 23, 2020 at the age of 63.

The family moved to Columbus, Ohio in June of 1966, when George was 9 years old. He graduated from Central High School in 1976. George played football, basketball and ran track. After high school, he worked as a security guard for AT&T for many years. George enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Some of his favorite activities included playing cards and shooting pool. He also enjoyed bowling and had a form of his own, striking a pose after throwing the ball.

George’s personality was calm, cool and collected. When he called you on the phone you would say “Hello” and waiting for a response you would be ready to hang up before hearing a slow “Yo”! George was very respectful and displayed manners to elders by saying ma’am and sir. He was also known for giving everybody a nickname or two. George was the life of the party listening to his favorite artist Rick James and doing his favorite dance “the freak”. It was said that he was one of the last people to rock a Jheri curl until there was no more snapback and his hair just wouldn’t curl anymore.

George was in a committed relationship with his significant other of over 20 years, Theresa Moore. They provided love and companionship for one another. And she cared for him, meeting his daily needs, after he went through some medical issues.

George leaves a large and loving family to cherish his memory. he was preceded in death by his father, George Robert Stewart Sr. He is survived by his mother, Gloria Stewart; siblings, Charles “Eddy” Stewart, Larry (Doraliz) Stewart, Veronica (Sam) Grayson, Bruce (Ramona) Stewart, Ricky Stewart, Danny (Kim) Stewart; significant other, Theresa Moore, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.

Private services Friday, April 3, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
