Geraldine Cannon

Devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Geraldine Marie Cannon-Fitzgerald
was called home to be with the Lord on Friday morning, July 7, 2017.

Geraldine was born on January 14, 1943, to Earl and Lena Fitzgerald in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
She professed acceptance of Jesus Christ as her lord and savior early in life and moved to
Columbus, Ohio in 1965. She married twice and mothered three beautiful daughters, Tammy,
Dorlene and Kimberlyann and three handsome sons, Michael, Tommy and Kevin. Geraldine was
active in her community and worked for The Bordon Company in Columbus for 25 years, retiring in the fall of 2000. She enjoyed many social activities with her close friends and family including bowling, playing cards and watching movies. She also enjoyed puzzles and various games with her children and grandchildren. In addition to her 6 children, Geraldine had 15 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Shantwan “Sonn” Smith; her parents, Earl and Lena Fitzgerald; sisters, Charlotte Brydie, Mary Williams, Earleen Wiley, Carolyn Cummings, and Lena Carter.

Geraldine was known to have a “beautiful” soul and will be sorely missed by friends and family alike.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Shantwan Smith; parents, Earl and Lena Williams Fitzgerald; and sisters, Charolette Brydie, Mary Williams, Earlene Wiley, Carolyn  Cummings and Lena Carter.

Left to cherish her memory, daughters, Tammy S. (Michael) Cotton, Dorlene F. (Karl) Hawkins, and Kimberlyann L. (Richard) Davis; sons, Michael W. Fitzgerald, Tommy L. (Susan) Cannon and Kevin D. (Theresa) Jones; sisters, Leona Scott, Pamela Bolte, Rosann (Herman) Noble, Charlene Fitzgerald and Marlene Whitson; brothers Larry (Patricia) Fitzgerald, Jr., Robert (Rose) Fitzgerald, Ricky Fitzgerald, William Fitzgerald and Timothy Fitzgerald; 15 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren; special friend, William McMillian and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation 11:00 a.m. and Funeral 12:00 Noon, Friday, July 14, 2017, at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave.  (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn north on Lonsdale Rd.).

Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery
