Willis in 1969.

Gloria Willis was born on January 1, 1941, in Bidwell, Ohio to the late Dixie Dotson and Geraldine Borden Dotson-Mayo. She transitioned from this world to reward on July 26, 2023. Gloria married Prince Henry Willis in 1969.

Gloria devoted her life to helping others and raising her children while also mentoring students attending The Ohio State University. She loved to cook meals for her family on special occasions and enjoyed being surrounded by her children and grandchildren on the weekends, she enjoyed visiting garage sales and various crafting projects including painting. Gloria gave her life to Christ at an early age and was an active member of New Salem Baptist church where she served on the Trustee Board and various other ministries at the church.

Gloria is preceded in death by her children Calvin Cousins Jr., Lynne Cousins her parents, stepfather; Hollis Mayo, brothers; Dixie Dotson Jr., Thomas Dotson and sisters; Regina Neal, Mary Howell, Deborah Dotson and Evelyn Milton, sister in-law; Barbara Jean Willis, brother in-law Thomas McNeal.

Cherishing fond and precious memories are her children, Toyia (James) Love, Cara (Morris) Casey, Babette (Eric) Merrill, and Chad Willis; grandchildren, Kia Casey, Ashley Love, Kyle Casey, Jeremy Love, Antwone Love, Andre Willis, great grandchildren; sisters; Cecelia (Thomas) McNeal, Alice Petty’s brothers; Stanley Mayo and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation 1:00 PM and Memorial Service 2:00 PM Thursday, August 3, 2023 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 East Livingston Ave.
