Columbus, Ohio – Gwynne Kay Price, 65, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024, at her home. Born on March 8, 1959, in Orrville, Ohio, she was the beloved daughter of James C. Price and Ethel L. (Perkins) Price. 

Gwynne is survived by her children, Veronica LaShaye Price, Trammell LaTroy Price, and Timia Imani Easley of Columbus, Ohio, who will forever hold her memory in their hearts. She was a proud grandmother to Azariah and Koa, who brought her great joy; she would go above and beyond for her grandchildren. 

In addition to her children and grandchildren, Gwynne is survived by her mother, Ethel Perkins - Price, siblings: Vicky R. Steele (Michael Steele) of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, James C. Price, Clay C. Price, both of Wooster, Ohio, and Stacy L. Price of Ypsilanti, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her father, James C. Price, and her sister, Enola G. Price. 

Gwynne was known for her words of encouragement and motivational talks, uplifting others with her heartfelt scripts, texts, and prayers. She had a passion for jazz and gospel concerts and plays and was a huge fan of watching track and field and figure skating. Gwynne loved traveling and enjoyed going on cruises and shopping trips with friends and family, creating countless memories. 

She delighted in playing cards, doing puzzles with her mother, engaging in word searches, and coloring books. Dancing was one of her greatest joys—when the right song came on, you knew to look for her on the dance floor, showcasing her signature moves. Take a moment to think of one of your favorite memories of Gwynne. 

A graduate of Wooster High School, Gwynne worked as an Administrative Professional for the Ohio Highway Patrol for over 15 years, contributing her exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and unwavering dedication to her team. She served the State of Ohio for a total of 32 years. 

A homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Second Baptist Church, 245 S. Grant St., Wooster, Ohio 44691, followed by interment at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, 7067 Cleveland Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691. A repast will be held at the Best Western Conference Center, 243 E Liberty St., Wooster, Ohio 44691. Friends and family are warmly invited to gather and celebrate Gwynne's remarkable life and legacy. 

Gwynne Kay Price will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her loving spirit and unwavering support will forever remain in our hearts. She will be missed by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom cherished her presence in their lives. A special shout-out to her dear cousins and friends who stood by her side through thick and thin; your love and support meant the world to her. Gwynne would say “Keep Living”, May she rest in peace.
