Hattie Mae Dickerson

Hattie Mae Dickerson age 81 was born October 18, 1936 in Lexington, Tennessee to Clarence and Veatrice Ford. She departed this earthly life October 29,2017 after a long courageous battle with cancer at Kobacker House.

Hattie graduated from Montgomery High in Lexington, Tennessee in 1956 then moved to Columbus, Ohio where she met and married the love of her life Charles “Bubbles” Dickerson. She worked at Children’s Hospital as an Instrument Technician where she retired after 35 years of service.

Hattie was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Veatrice Ford, husband Charles Dickerson, daughter Wanda Dickerson Pickens, brothers Nelson Calvin Coolidge and Aaron Ford, sisters Canary Johnson, Deborah Pearson, Ava Nell Ford, Slomar Jefferson, Thelma & Francine Ford, niece Bobbie Buckley, grandson Terrance Bowles Dickerson & great grandson Baby Bell.

Hattie is survived by her sons Charles & Clarence (Jamey) Dickerson, daughters Charlotte (John) Williams, and Rosie Dickerson, only living sister Dottie Good, sister in law Nancy Beasley, grandchildren Larry (Darceil), Antjuan, Danielle, Kevin(Tinniqua), William, Tyshawn, (Dawnetta), Sequoia, Shada, Bill, Denzell, Dalon,Dickersons, Shanta (Shannon), Carolina, Cody Jordan, Rashawn (Sacoya) Gilliam, Kenya Gilliam, Jeannine Golding, Branden (Amber) Benton, Charles Benton and Samuellee Ogboko. A host of great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Hattie had a spirit of Love and Kindness. Always had her heart and home open to help family and friends. She made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible. She walked with the universe on her shoulders and made it look like a pair of wings. She was a devoted member of Greater Ebenezer Cathedral of Praise, she loved spending time with family and friends having cookouts and going back home to Tennessee to visit family and friends and attend Cooper Grove Homecoming. She was an Amazing mother, wife, grandmother, and friend. She was loved by so many. Hattie had a heart of Gold!

Visitation 9:00am Funeral 10:00am Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Greater Ebenezer Cathedral of Praise, 2645 Fairwood Ave.

Interment at Green Lawn Cemetery.
