Ichia Quiana Ramseur

Ichia “Peaches” Ramseur was born on October 1, 1980, to Cynthia Walker and Eric Colon in Newark, New Jersey.

 As a child Ichia enjoyed playing hopscotch, hide-and-seek, and barbies with her little sister, Jaritza. Additionally, Ichia enjoyed spending time with her pet pig, chicken, and Mexican Python with her siblings, Jaritza and Dinero. She enjoyed writing and singing but modeling was her hobby! At the age of six years old, she moved to Ohio where she attended school in order to learn English, as it was not her primary language. Conquering the language barrier, Ichia went on to graduate from Garfield High School in 1999. Ichia went on to attend college at Akron University where she graduated with an associate’s degree in medical assisting. During that time Ichia would graduate at the top of her class while being on the Dean’s List. 

After her completion of college, Ichia planned to join the military until she was graced with the news of being pregnant with her daughter, Aychaja Hamilton-Ramseur (22), which she gave birth to on November 28, 2001 in Akron, Ohio. After having her first child, Ichia dedicated her life to being a mother, as she continued to work and give birth to her remaining children; Nehemiah Ahsein Hamilton-Ramseur (19), Sandra Mario Sloan-Ramseur (10), and Hylyn Ashun Ramseur (6). 

Ichia is remembered for her gracious smile and contagious laugh. Ichia’s personality had a nurturing impact on anyone who engaged with her. She was truly one of a kind. She was loved by all who knew her, and to know her as the woman she was, was to love her.  

Ichia Quiana Ramseur was peacefully called home on July 5, 2024. Ichia is preceded in death by her mother, Cynthia Walker; and grandfather, Joseph White. 

She leaves behind her children, Aychaja Quayonnah Hamilton-Ramseur, Nehemiah Ahsein Hamilton-Ramseur, Sandra Mario Sloan-Ramseur, and Hylyn Ashun Ramseur; her father, Eric Colon; grandmother, Bessie Ramseur; siblings, Jaritza Colon (Columbus, OH) and Dinero Ramseur (Mansfield, OH); 6 nieces and nephews, Ramaja, Johnnia, Javonnie, Kingdon, Kwinn, and Jakai; her special cousin, Tameerah Carter, as well as a host of loving cousins, family, and friends.
