James Albert Parks, 65. Sunrise February 5, 1948 and Sunset September 6, 2013. James served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, retired from Buckeye Steel and Columbus City Schools, and was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church where he served as an usher. He was preceded in death by his parents Florence Crockett and Robert Parks, son James Flunder Jr., and brothers Ronald and Curtis Crockett. Left to cherish his memory, wife Glenda J. Parks, children Mark Strickland, Toya Parks, Arletha Strickland, Garrick (Mary) Gober, Henry “Chico” Cober III, Ganika (John) Boyce, and Aman (Sidonia), brothers Johnny Crockett and Charles Crockett Jr., sisters Carolyne (William) Harris and Deborah (David) Burley, special sister Nellie “Pippy” Crockett, special cousin Andrew Bowman, 21 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
