James Edward Smith Sr.

James E. Smith Sr, 78 departed this life on Friday August 31, 2018. He was born in Spartanburg South Carolina to Frank Smith Sr and Nannie Smith.

He attended and Graduated from Carver High School, Spartanburg South Carolina. In 1959, He relocated to Columbus Ohio.

James worked for Ohio Meat Packers Outlet for many years until he retired.. 

James was affectionately known as “Smitty the Meat Man”.. He loved to sing, and traveled around with his singing group. He loved all kinds of music, Blues and Gospel were among his favorites… He was a very charming man, with a great sense of humor, he was loved by many. 

James was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Smith Sr, Nannie Smith.,  Wife, Nora Smith,  Brothers, Frank Smith, Ralph Smith.. Sister, Annie Lucas.. Brothers in Law, Lacy Lucas and Robert Williams.. Sons, Keith Johnson and Lacy Smith.

James leaves to cherish His Memory, His siblings, Brothers Dorcy Smith, Barry Smith.. Sisters, Helen William’s and Sibbie Smith.. In Laws, Ruth Smith and Denise Smith.Children; LaTrice(Yvette)Johnson, Cassandra(James)Bradley, Demita Smith, Darryl(Andrea)Smith, Jaimie Smith, Kevin Smith, James(Jill) Smith Jr, Keith(Gwen)Cole.

James was the Grandfather of 9 and Great Grandfather of 8, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Relatives and Friends will cherish the many memories shared with Him.
