James “Jimmy” Mack Jr., age 73, went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2024. James believed in God whole-heartedly and fought until the end.
James was born in Youngstown, Ohio on September 11, 1950, to the late James and Daisy Mack. He was the first child of four children. James loved his sports and was a die-hard fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Ohio State Buckeyes.
James is survived by the love of his life, his devoted wife Anita J. Mack, son James Mack III, stepsons Chester Friday, William Adams, and Walter Adams, II, daughter Victoria Mack, step-daughter J’Nitra Adams-Thompson, sister Lisa McKinney, sisters-in-law Pat Hall, Ann Valentine, Connie Phillips, Frederica Hall-Sawyer, and Sheri Hall, brothers-in-law Frank Rucker, Fred Hall III, Wayne Sawyer, and George Hall, 21 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
James served 10 years in the United States Air Force and retired after 32 years at the post office. He started his career at the post office as a truck driver and worked his way up to position of Supervisor of Transportation.
James is preceded in death by his parents, son Robert Mack, sisters Lori Mack and Linda Rucker, mother-in-law Marion Hall, sister-in-law Cornelia Crawford, brother-in-law Willie Crawford, step-daughter, Tasha Adams Burt, and Trudy Mack.
Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.
Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
