James B. Wimbush, 90, of Columbus, OH, died December 16, 2024. “JB” Wimbush, son of Buford Wimbush and Dora Manns Williamson, passed away at his home from health complications. He was a long-standing member of Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, Inc.
JB was born in Henry County, Virginia. He left VA early in his career and lived in Detroit, MI, and Youngstown, OH, for a while before settling in Columbus, OH. JB held various jobs before finding his niche as a Local 423 laborer. His entrepreneurial ability led him to partner with his brother, Raymond Williamson, to start W&W Trucking, Bobcat, Hauling, and Service Corporation. He also started a bar called D#1 Happy Family. He loved cars, clothes, and hanging out with his card-playing friends. He will be missed by his family and friends.
JB was the oldest of 13 children. He is preceded in death by his parents: brothers Robert Williamson, George Chester Williamson, Thomas Williamson, and Bobby Donnell Williamson; sisters Margaret Ross and Jean Cuff, and special friend Dorothy L Fitts.
He is survived by four children, James A (Teresa) Wimbush, Teari W. Buari, Dianna (Ira) Hartway, and Tyrone (Ronet) Payne.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Shanon (Raquel) Buari, Jondrea Burke, Thailer Buari, James Buari, Deonna Burke, Jaylen Payne, Tyler Payne, and Ronen Payne, numerous nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and son-in-law, Shamsideen A Buari, sisters, Nannette Tinsley, Elsie Via, Linda (Michael) Thomas, and brothers, Raymond (Jackie) Williamson, Walter Williamson, Roger Williamson.
