Jerry D. Williams

Jerry D. Williams “Cherry Pie Jr.”, age 70, a native of Portsmouth, Oh was called from his earthly labor to eternal rest during his short stay in Cleveland, Ohio.

Jerry was born to the late Robert Pritchett and Emma J. Williams-Warren. He was raised by his grandparents, the late Hugh C. & Sadie M. Williams.

Jerry attended Washington Elementary School and Grant Junior High School. He graduated from
Portsmouth High School (Home of the Trojans). He worked for a short time at Roberts Jewelry Store and
Frich’s Big Boy following graduation. He became employed with N&W Railroad in Portsmouth, Ohio and later transferred to Columbus, Ohio as a young man and retired after 44 years of service with the
company.

He became a member of Emmanuel Tabernacle Church, now known as Living Faith Temple, where he
was baptized under the leadership of Elder John Newman in 1959, and later under the leadership of
Bishop Q. L. Wilson with the Greater Emmanuel Fellowship, International now under the leadership of
Chief Prelate, Bishop Edward E. Shouse, Sr. He joined Grace and Mercy Fellowship Center in 2012 under the leadership of Bishop Roy B. Lisath, Overseer and Bishop Roy J. Lisath, Pastor.

He is preceded in death by a special childhood friend, Perry Gene Lisath, 3 beloved brothers-in-law Elton Davis Sr., Wilbert Jordan and Emmanuel Barnes, Sr., nephew, Oscar Richardson, and an Aunt, Leora McClin.

Surviving are four children, Michelle Williams of Cleveland, Ohio, Jerry Williams, Jr. (Consuela) of Akron, Ohio, Jeffrey “Pie” Williams (Betty) of Columbus, Ohio, and Jada Williams of Virginia. Ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Three sisters-JoRuth Jordan and Diane Barnes, both of Columbus, Ohio, and Dreama Fraley (Craig) of Akron, Ohio. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

The patriarch of our family has gained his wings. Jerry, you will be missed and cherished by all of us. You fought a good fight of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We will always love you for the rest of our lives. Now you may Rest in Heaven

Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00pm Friday, August 9, 2019 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
