Jerry Leon Powell

Jerry Leon Powell Sr., went to be with the lord on October 27, 2021. He was born on March 13, 1963, in Huntington West Virginia.

Jerry is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Annie Jackson, mother Barbara L. Powell Watts, Father James Courts, sisters Petrea Powell, and Cheryl Womack. daughter Chrystina Dooley, nephew Jaurice Blakely, and special friend Laura Williams.

Jerry leaves behind to cherish his memory his sister Gwendolyn Newsom (Tommy), Brothers Tyrone Powell (Blossom), Philip Powell (Daphne), Albert Powell (Darnice Brunner). daughters Linda Kay Koylu (Mustafa), Mya Cunningham, sons Jerry Powell (Haley), and Terry Powell. He also has a host of niece’s, nephew’s, stepchildren, friends and 2 special families the Dixon’s and the Brunner’s. Jerry loved his family unconditionally with his whole heart.

Jerry was always the life of the party for every occasion. He loved music, singing, and dancing. He made money at the age of 4 and 5 years old by dancing for people. He enjoyed music so much that we had a hard time picking out his favorite song which was called no more rain by Angie Stone. He loved sports especially the Dallas Cowboys, and The Ohio State Buckeyes.

He was a big jokester because he kept everyone laughing. He loved to eat, and he was the Grill Master at the family picnics and reunions.
