John Allen Jr.

John served in the United States Army and the Army National Guard as a Medical Specialist from 1987- 1990. He then earned his education from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. John graduated on June 9, 1996, with a Bachelor of Science in Management with Magna Cum Laude honors.

John worked for Taylor Metal before his passing. He has worked at various jobs throughout his life after serving as a Corrections Officer for the Ohio Dept. of Corrections.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Allen Sr., and his grandparents.

John is survived by his mother, Jacklin Allen, in Mansfield, OH; his son Jaylen (Oriana) Allen and grandsons Carter Allen, Ezra Allen, and Ari Allen in Louisville, KY; daughter Jakayla Allen in Mansfield, OH; siblings, Shamon Allen in Orlando, FL, Antonio Allen in Dayton, OH, and Kameelah and Latika Allen in San Diego, CA. Kimani (Verdogg) Jones, John’s best friend, was more like a brother.

John leaves to cherish his memory many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral service will be held at the MARLAN GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE MANSFIELD 753 McPherson St. On August 29, 2023, at 11:00 am, with visitation starting at 10:00 am. Inurnment in the Mansfield Cemetery on September 1, 2023, at 11:00 am.
