John Henry Wright

January 19, 1946 — August 1, 2024

John Henry Wright was born to James and Luttie Wright on January 19, 1946 in Wilcox County, Alabama. He worked various jobs throughout his life before retiring in 2011, including FARO and Nutis Press.

 He enjoyed fishing, sports, mechanics, and spending time with his family. He found a purpose in collecting and recycling aluminum cans. He would cash in the can for coins to roll. His sole purpose in the process was to give the rolled coins to his grandchildren to start, and learn to save money.

He entered eternal rest on Thursday August 1,2024 in his son’s home where he has lived for the past 3 years.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Martha Jean Wright; daughters, Kimberly and Kathy Coles; grandson, Teddy McGrapth; brother, Jimmy Lee Wright, and both his parents, James and Luttie Wright.

He leaves behind memories to be cherished by his daughters, K.C. Coles, Sonya Reavish, and Sophia Carlisle; sons, Johnny Reavish, Johnny Wright, Jimmy Wright, Christopher Carlisle, and William Carlisle. As well as brother, Fred Randal; and sister, Martha Pruitt. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Visitation 9:00 AM and Funeral Service 10:00 AM Friday, August 9, 2024 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave. (one block east of Noe Bixby, turn North on Lonsdale Rd.). Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
