Jordan Devante’ Long passed away suddenly on July 25, 2024. He was born on December 19, 1994 in Columbus, Ohio to Louise Long and George Miller.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Ella Christine and Bennie Long of Logan, West Virginia, Louise Lige-Houston and Tom Lige of Logan West Virginia, Lillie and Vernon Miller of Columbus, Ohio; grandfathers, Bennie Long Jr. and George Hughes; aunts, Selina Miller, Suzy Long; great uncles, Matthew Lige, Howard Robinson, Tom Lige Jr., Ernest McClendon, Dorsey Long; and great aunts, Sandy Lige, Bonnie Cade, Tommie McClendon, and Marcella Taylor.
Jordan accepted the Lord at an early age at Seventh Avenue Baptist Church, later moved to Canaan Baptist Church where Jordan was a member of the R.O.C.C. Ministry and was a founding member of The Gospel Rap Group FIRE.
Jordan graduated from Columbus Africentric Early College in 2013 where he played varsity football. Shortly after high school, he studied Nursing at Cincinnati University. Later he joined with his cousin’s rap group OTD. He loved writing music, performing, making music videos, and was an avid dog lover. He welcomed a son in 2020, and was an amazing dad and dedicated father, always spending quality time his son, Jordan DeVante’ Long Jr.
In 2024 Jordan started working in receiving as a Forklift Driver with Illuminate USA in Pataskala, Ohio. He was quickly promoted to Team Lead. He loved his job and was a dynamic leader. Jordan was well liked by his team and management. He rededicated his life to Christ earlier this year and became a member of Kingdom Power Baptist Church.
He leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Louise Long and George Miller; special friend, Danasjiah Hurdle; and his son, Jordan Devante’ Long Jr.; his siblings, Carlton (Melanise) Long, Terrance Long, and Janae Wilder; uncles, Bennie Long and Eric (Demetria) Long; nieces, Havana Long, Anaya Long-Cruz; nephews DeMarco Long, DeNiko Long and Davon Long-Cruz; grandmothers, Alice Long and Donna Miller; Godmother, Marcia Hike and a host of cousins and close friends.
