Joseph Ricardo Angel

Joseph Ricardo Angel, 69, entered eternal rest on Friday, November 4, 2022, at 9:04 pm at Mount Carmel East Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. He was born February 27, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio to the union of Joseph L. and Barbara Ann Angel.

Joseph attended Warren G. Harding High School, where he was a star football player. When his health permitted, he attended St. Paul AME Church under Rev. Dr. Michael Bean. One of his favorite jobs was being a Security Guard at Cooper Stadium.

Whether you called, or knew him as, Ric, Slick Rick, Pretty Ricky, Ricky, Uncle, Brother, or friend, everyone knew he loved to cook and dance and was a die-hard OSU Buckeye and Pittsburgh Stealers Fan. If the Buckeyes were losing and Spinn wasn’t watching the game with him, Spinn would have to call Ric to calm him down and tell him everything would be alright, or Rick would be ready to throw something at the TV.

Ric will surely be missed by many. He leaves to mourn his passing but cherish his memories and rejoice in his peace, his children: Vincent “Vinny” Turner; Dwayne Allen Purvis; Derina (Dennis) Malone; Antony Brodie Angel; Allen “Tuff” Heard; Antonio Purvis; Victoria “Precious” Lynn Heard. His Devoted Sister Victoria Angel; Brothers Michael and Garry (Joan) Angel; Goddaughter Malayna Monique Lynn Roberts; Granddaughters Nikyiah, Mi’Amor and Kyileah; A Special Sister Galenda Gordon; Former Wife Faye; A long time Sweetheart and Best Friend, Arlynda Mae Heard. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Joseph was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Barbara Angel; Sister Jacqueline Angel; Brothers Wesley and Ronald Angel; Wife Brenda Angel.

Visitation 11:00 AM and Funeral Service 12:00 PM Monday, November 14, 2022 at St. Paul AME Church , 639 E. Long Street. Ministry of Comfort entrusted to MARLAN J.
