Jovonia Ann White

Jovonia White a legal assistant for Special Counsel to the Attorney General’s office and lifelong resident of Columbus, Ohio, died unexpectedly at the age of 43 on January 21, 2022 in a heartbreaking car accident.

Jovonia was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Mattie and Willie White, maternal grandparents Delores and Anthony Barney. She is survived by her father Larry White, mother Cynthia Barney, sons Adonis, Chaunzay and daughter Jayonia Walker; brother Eric White.

Jovonia was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on April 21, 1978.  She was raised in Wellsville, OH and Midland, PA where she worked for “Barnaby’s” pizza shop that was owned by her mother. She learned how to work hard and cultivate a love and respect for people. She was a cheerleader at Wellsville City Schools which helped to teach her to work as a team and foster her encouraging ways. Jovonia was such a great supporter and mother. Jovonia was a member of New Birth Christian Ministries where she started on her spiritual journey.

Jovonia’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives and hearts of her children. Jovonia was such a bright light. She had the biggest personality and beauty that would turn heads! Jovonia had the kindest soul, she would give you the shirt off her back. Jovonia also lived for her kids, family and dearest friends. Jovonia dressed to impress, she had an infectious smile, laugh and a model walk, out of this world. You could find her with lady luck on her side at the casino!

Knowing Jovonia you knew she loved to fine dine; but managed to keep her exquisite figure. Her presence was felt in every place she went. Jovonia loved to travel as she aimed to experience the finer things in life to grow in many aspects. Fearless, strong, and honest. She remained positive no matter what she was going through.

Jovonia was an inspiration to everyone she came across. A “go getter” and was positive even in her darkest hours. She remained optimistic with her head held high. She didn’t let the hardships of life keep her down. Jovonia had a spirit of gold and the wherewithal to bounce back. She had very strong faith in the lord.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, her mother, father and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
