Julio Castro, Jr

Julio “Hootie” Ceser Castro, Jr. was born on August 5, 2003, in Columbus, Ohio to Holly Darst and Julio Castro, Sr. On April 11, 2022, at the age of 18, Julio was unexpectedly called home.

Hootie attended Hilliard Davidson High School and would have received his diploma in May of 2022. He was a dedicated employee at Walmart for the last two years, which he loved. From little league football with the Dolphins, to playing WWE with Boom and little Selena, up to high school, Hootie could always make someone laugh. His shenanigans always had friends and family smiling.

Hootie was welcomed home by his mother, Holly Darst; grandmothers and grandfathers, Tondia, and Ray and Elizabeth Clyde; aunt Ni-Ni; and cousin, L.J. Cherishing Hootie’s memory are parents, Carie and Dominic Townsel; siblings, Tavaris Darst, Nolla (George) Gonzalez, Big Selena (Paul) Melendez, Summer Darst, Dominic “Boom” Townsel II, and Little Selena Castro; as well as two nieces, Mila and Namaari Gonzalez; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Thursday, April 21, 2022 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
