Juvon Lavelle Williams

Juvon Lavelle along with his twin brother Jordon Lloyd Williams, was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on August 21, 1992 to the union of Lloyd and Dionne Williams.

As a child, Juvon was very involved in sports such football, track and wrestling. He also loved to read, spend time with family and friends, and he was an award winning writer of poetry. At the age of 14, on July 15, 2007, Juvon dedicated his life to Christ and symbolized his commitment through water baptism. To demonstrate his love for God and mankind, Juvon worked to help and assist others throughout his life. His love for people led him to become a Nurses Assistant at the Broadview Nursing Home, as well as volunteer his summers to the “Recreation Unlimited” camps, assisting disabled and special needs children.

In June of 2010, Juvon graduated from New Albany High School, as well as received his specialization in Nurse aide training from Fairfield Career Center. Following his parents footsteps, Juvon enlisted in the United States Army on August 13, 2010, completing his basic combat training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and advanced individual training at Fort Eustis, Virginia in March 2011. He was an AH-64 Apache Helicopter Repairman with First Batallion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Juvon’s awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon.

Juvon’s sunset was on Friday, August 12, 2011. He is survived by his loving parents Lloyd and Dionne Williams, his twin brother Jordon and niece Savannah, and his baby brother Jalen Lamar Williams, grandparents, Lloyd and Cheryl Williams, and Robert John and Marguerite Washington, Jr., four aunts Lil Patty (Anthony), Terrelle Cunningham, Tyree Rivers (Marland), and Tawanna Rodriguez (David), a host of other family, including his great grandparents, great aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends. Juvon’s special mentor, Coach Otis “O” Winston, was a driving force in his life to make “change” in this world, which is what he dedicated his life to do.
