Karla Denise Taylor, affectionately known as Kool K or Momma Karla, was born February 3, 1970, and went home to be with the Lord on June 30, 2010. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Anna (Charles) Courtney, paternal grandmother Willa Sterling, paternal grandfather James R. Taylor; brother Gary Lewis Sr.; aunt Lula Heglar, Lucy Lewis, Barbara Jean Taylor; uncles Bobby Horton and Darell Jackson.

She leaves to cherish her memory Mother Lenora Taylor; father Harold (Anita) Taylor; children “The Twins” Amber & Ashley Taylor, Kari Taylor and Davion Broomfield; grandchildren Asiah Miller, Delshawn Woods, Amaré Miller, Amiah Shelton Taylor; brother Dennis Lewis; sisters Alfea (David) Prince, Stacy Truss and Jasmine Lucky; godchildren Brittany, Brooke, Seon and Iyana; aunts Deloris Jackson, Ernestine Horton, Kathy (Paul) Oates, Bonita Nuby and Sylvia Taylor; uncles Jim Jim, Valentine, Hayward, Marvin, Albert and William Taylor; sisters in Christ Patricia Roach, Renee Collins, Dottie Green, Melinda Newman and Jenny Richards Price; special cousins Aja Leepart, Elizabeth Horton, Lolita Taylor (Fav), and Brandy Martin; godmom Jenny Williams; mothers in Christ Betty (Donald) Fullum and Deloris (Nepolian) Hegans; special sons Kurt McGee, Darelle Byrd, Cameron and Corey Brown, Eddie Miller, “Dominic Jones, Antoine Robberts and a whole lot of special daughters and sons.

Karla was a graduate of Marion Franklin High School of Columbus, Ohio. She was a kind and loving woman. She has been a member of First Carmel Baptist Church since 1981. Where she served as president of Pastor’s Aid, a member of the trustee board, and a faithful member of the choir.

Karla’s main objection in life was to encourage the youth. She was very family oriented. She found the craziest ways to put a smile on your face. Upon arrival to Karla’s home, you had no choice but to endure in warm and loving hugs and kisses; and couldn’t leave her presence until you scheduled a follow up visit to see her. Karla was more than a daughter, sister or mother, grandmother and friend. She was a blessing to all of us. She will be forever missed, but never forgotten.
