Katherine Latham

Katherine Latham went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday February 27, 2018 surrounded by her family. Katherine was born January 27^th, 1931 to Albert Sidney and Rosa Bell Swanson in Martinsville, Virginia. She moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1950 where she worked and retired from Mercy Hospital.

Katherine affectionately known to many as “Momma” was a special lady and she lived a full life. She touched so many and was such a blessing to those that encountered her. Momma selflessly gave herself always relying on God for guidance. She would do all she could to help others and always had words of encouragement. Her children and especially her grandchildren were very dear to her. No matter the size of the situation, big or small, she would always call on Him by His name “Lord”. Momma was also a great cook. The family always enjoyed visiting and eating her delicious meals.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Sidney and Rosa Bell Swanson; son, Anthony “Tony” Latham; grandsons, James “Jim Jim” Latham III and Itiba Meadows; six brothers and two sisters.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory to her children, LaNell (Lee) Hannah; James (Ursline) Latham, Brenda (Richard Neely) McClendon, Larry Latham, Michael (Delania) Latham, Kevin (Tammy) Latham, and Karyn Turner; brother, Larry Swanson (daughter Rosanell) and grandchildren, Katrina, Sidney, Alex, Carol, Demitra, Kira, Kenya, Alisha, Keon, Shawn, Regan, Tasatha, Honesty, Larry Jr., Sheniece, Larrioynna, Larry Malcolm, Kayana, Rashad, Kari, Michael Jr., Michaela, Joseph, Amanda, Adrienne, Jordan, Kevin Jr., T’Keyah, Quan, Floyd, Phillip, Isaiah and a host of great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, multiple nieces and nephews, friends, and loved ones.

Celebration of Life Service 12 pm on Wednesday, March 6^th, 2018 at Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, 870 St. Clair Ave. Family will receive friends at 11am until time of service. Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
