Kenneth Gray, Jr

June 9, 1991 — December 29, 2024

Kenneth “Kenny” Dwight Gray Jr., affectionately known by his friends and family as KG, was born on June 9, 1991, in Columbus, Ohio, to his devoted parents, Kenneth D. Gray Sr. and Andrea P. Gray. He left this world for eternal rest on Sunday, December 29, 2024. His influence and spirit live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

Kenny's infectious enthusiasm for life shone through in his deep love for football, which was a significant part of his upbringing. While he was at Independence High School, being a member of the school’s football team filled him with pride. He often remembered his time as a Defensive Back and Corner Back for the Eastland Vikings Football team, where he created countless treasured memories. His strong support for Ohio State Football brought him immense joy, which he shared with everyone lucky to be around him. Besides football, Kenny loved playing video games and cherished the moments he spent with his children. His ability to spread joy and excitement enriched his passion for life, helping him forge strong connections and unforgettable experiences. Kenny’s love for sports and family made him a genuinely spirited person.

Kenny's life was a beautiful mix of love and companionship, deeply enriched by the family members who adored him. He had a special connection with his great-great-grandmother, Lucille Elliott Wingate, and his great-grandmother, Pearlie Mae Dean, who showered him with endless love. These incredible women and his great-grandparents, grandparents, aunts, and cousins played vital roles in his life, surrounding him with warmth and care. His great-grandfather, Kerll King, and his cherished grandparents—James and Toni Williams, Bonita Smith, Marvin Louis Smith Sr., and Robert Tolbert—are honoring his memory. His sisters, Ciera and Kanasha Gray, treasure the moments they shared with him, and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, nephew Zaire Gray, great-niece Kahlani Gray, niece Zariah Gray, and Zamyah Gray, and cousins will continue to carry his spirit. Special friends Armoni, Raymond, and Sheek are devastated by his loss but will always hold onto the memories they made together.

Kenny was not just a beloved family member but a dedicated husband to his wife, Chantel Gray, and a proud father to his cherished kids: Jairee, Kyndal, Kenneth III, Keenan, Khalil, and stepchildren Cayden, Carter, and Chayce, who also added so much joy to his life. As we think of Kenny, we honor the love and warmth he shared with everyone, ensuring that his spirit will always be remembered by those he left behind.
