Kenyetta C Draughon, lovingly known as Puddin Puddin, was born on September 2, 1973, passed away on September 21, 2023, Kenyetta was a cherished member of her community, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and joyful memories.

Born and raised in Columbus, Kenyetta was a proud African American woman who embraced her heritage and valued her family above all else. She was the beloved mother of Davonte Mitchell, Leanndra Mitchell, Vandell Mitchell, and Dalaysa Penick. Her role as a mother was one she cherished and excelled in, guiding her children with unwavering support, love, and understanding.

Kenyetta was the daughter of Sandra A Merrill and William L. Draughon, who always held a special place in her heart. She also leaves behind her grandmother, Hattie E. Merrill; cherished sisters, (twin) Kenyatta Draughon, Kisha (Eramus) Thornton, and Tina Tatum and brother, Ahmed Alexander. Her presence in her siblings’ lives brought immense joy and irreplaceable bonds.

Professionally, Kenyetta was a dedicated Call Center Specialist at Chase, where she partnered her warm personality with professionalism, providing exceptional service to those she served. Outside of work, Kenyetta found great joy in music, dancing, and cooking. She loved gathering her family around the table for delicious meals, creating lasting memories that will be cherished for generations to come.

As an avid organizer and decorator, Kenyetta transformed any space she touched into a haven of beauty and comfort. Her attention to detail and knack for interior design made every gathering a memorable experience. Moreover, she loved watching movies, shopping for the latest fashions, indulging in fine dining experiences, and exploring the world through travel.

Kenyetta brought energy and light to every room she entered, making people laugh with her infectious sense of humor. Her playful spirit extended to spending quality time with her six-year-old daughter, immersing herself in the world of Barbie dolls and creating magical moments that will forever be cherished.

Kenyetta leaves behind her companion Duane E. Penick and four beautiful grandchildren, Sa’myah Williamson, Cabella Willis, Naomi Mitchell, and Ahmias Mitchell, who brought immense joy to her life. She relished in their presence and showered them with love and affection. She is also survived by a special sister, Erica Brown and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; grandmother, Christella Woody, grandfather, William A. Merrill and stepsister Tosha Mays.

To honor and remember this incredible woman, funeral services and ceremonies have been arranged. Visitation 9:00am and Funeral 10:00am Saturday September 30, 2023 at Gospel Tabernacle United Holy Church 1205 Hildreth Ave. She will be laid to rest next to her father at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.

Kenyetta C Draughon was an extraordinary individual who embraced life, cherished her loved ones, and spread joy wherever she went. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known and loved her.
