Kevin Lamont Cook

Kevin Lamont Cook was born on May 6, 1965 in Columbus, Ohio to Eugenia Brown Caldwell and the late Roland Cook. He departed this life to eternal rest on Wednesday January 4, 2023, at Riverside Hospital.

Kevin accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age and was baptized at Christ Memorial Baptist Church.

Kevin attended Brookhaven High School where he was a Basketball star a ran track. Kevin was loved by many for his outgoing personality and his sense of stye.

Kevin could always be found giving back to others nurturing their talent. Kevin coached several little league football and basketball teams from 1987- 2009 including All Ohio Basketball and B.Js Basketball Kevin was such a good coach, he won championships at Rickenbacker and Greenlawn.

K.K., as he was known, was an entrepreneur. He was a promoter and opened several stores, Y2K Kid’s Fashions and Options Boutique. He had standards that he set for himself and others and was loved for it. In fact, his friends would tease him as being “OCD” because he would straighten up other people’s homes to keep them neat and presentable.

When Kevin joined Christian Valley Baptist Church, he became the definition of faithful servant. He drew many to the fellowship, and souls to Christ, with his testimony and his commitment. He Walked the Walk everywhere of his love for God and his church family. If the church was open, you would find Kevin there, serving and worshiping.

Kevin L. Cook was preceded in death by his brothers; Charles Anthony (Tony), Andre Lavelle, maternal grandparents; Inez Scott Brown and Julius C. Brown and paternal grandparents; Ella Mae Cook and William Cook, Sr., uncles; Donald Brown, William (Billy) Brown, aunts; Martha Burtch, Maryann Brown, and Shirley Brown.

Kevin leaves to cherish his memory his mother; Eugenia (Alvin) Caldwell, sisters; Pamela Brown (Gary), Shelika Cook, Gail Cook, Irene Valentine and Tabitha Jones-Ward, brothers; Rodney James, Shawn Cook, Roland Cook, Jr., and James Cook, nephews; Devin (Jonte), Anthony (Tone-Tone), aunts; Deborah Brown, Linda Hemphil, Patricia Williamson, Vicky Cook-Edwards, Beverly, and Louise Drinkard, uncles; Robert Cook, Charles Ray Cook (Essie), Delphian Woods, Joseph
Brown, and Ivy Cook (Torisa), Goddaughter; Brandy Taylor, cousins; Deidra Reese, Asa Brown, Karla Edgerton, Dorothy Gatewood, and Imogene Goodlett. Kevin is also survived by special brother friends; Pastor Donald Fitzgerald, Cheo Greenhow, Kevin Pace, Richard (Poncho) Malone, Juan Malone, Rob Avery, George Howard, Rick Perry, Wayne Marshall, Bernard D. Draughton, Jimmy Burton and Tommy Brown and a host of family and friends.

Lie in State Friday, January 13, 2023 from 6-8pm at Christian Valley Baptist Church, 3330 Scottwood Rd.

Visitaion 9:30am and Funeral 10:30am Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Christian Valley Baptist Church.

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
