Kwane Smith

Kwane Smith, 51, Gained his wings on November 25, 2022. Kwane was born on January 15, 1971 to William and Bonnie Smith. He was affectionately known as K Love, Uncle Huggy, and Coach Smith.

Kwane graduated from Mifflin High School in 1989. He worked as a pre-K instructional assistant, community recreation center aide, numerous coaching, and volunteer programs.

Kwane enjoyed cooking; he was known for his culinary skills. Everyone loved his mac’n’cheese, seafood pasta salad and greens. He also loved traveling. He made it his goal to take a cruise every year. He was inclined to see the world.

Kwane was a huge Broncos, Lakers, and Michigan fan. On the weekends, and game days he would cheer for his favorite sports team with friends and family.

Kwane was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. Kwane’s smile and laugh were contagious, and those who knew him could expect to be entertained with laughter and jokes and sometimes be the subject of the punchline because he was hilarious.

Kwane is preceded in death by parents, William and Bonnie Smith; first wife, Juanita Tinsley-Smith; and daughter, Miasha Valentine Tinsley.

Kwane is survived by fiancé, Stacey Williams; son, Warren (Prachelle) Tinsley; children, Jhanae’ McCoy, DeNe’zha and Osheana Clarett; grandchildren, Amora Bella Juanita Perrin, Janelle and Jonathan Pinkins; sisters, Timolyn “Teechy” Smith, Debbie (Charles) Harris and Dana (Ronald) Aekins; brothers, Kenyan (Catriece) Smith and Gary Smith; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation 12:00pm and Funeral 1:00pm Monday, December 5, 2022 at Trinity Baptist Church, 461 St Clair Ave.

Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
