Ladawn (Karina) Kamille Darity-Phinisee, affectionately known as “Krazy K” age 43, peacefully departed this life on May 9, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. Ladawn was born on February 4, 1981 in Columbus, Ohio to Rhonda Karen Darity.
At an early age, Ladawn was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a graduate of Independence High School in Columbus, Ohio. She continued her education at Devry Technical Institute where she
earned a degree in Information Technology. She spent the last 15 years working in IT for The State of Ohio’s Department of Disabilities, Amazon, Facebook, and most recently the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS).
On October 23, 2021, Ladawn married the love of her life, Latrina Phinisee. Their union allowed them to unite their two families, becoming the proud parents of 3 children.
Ladawn was known for her vibrant spirit, radiant smile and passion for life while always being the life of the party. From an early age, she demonstrated a passion for music where she could hear something and instantly get on a keyboard and play what she just heard. As Ladawn became older, her passion for music evolved into writing and producing music in her home recording studio, as well as performing her music in various cities across the country. She was an avid shoe collector and enjoyed boxing when she was younger. She also loved traveling with her wife Latrina and their children.
Before her passing, she was looking forward to a trip to the cabins with her family. Her life was marked by numerous achievements, but her lasting legacy and greatest accomplishment was becoming a mother to her twin boys Nehemiah and
Nie’al.
She leaves behind a powerful legacy of love, faith, and dedication to her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ernestine Perry-Sillman; step-father, David Sillman; cousin, Ira David Perry; grandparents, Ernestine C. Darity, Ira D Perry, and Dorothy Perry; aunts, Patricia Ross, Erma Nowlin; and uncles, Ernest Perry and Julius Darity.
Ladawn leaves to cherish in her loving memory her wife, Latrina Phinisee; children, Christina Phinisee, Nehemiah, and Nie’al Darity; parents, Rhonda Darity and Byron Woods; sisters, Kristen Perry, Katina Perry, and Da’Nesha Woods; brothers, Byron RayQaun Darity, Joseph Woods, Michael Durroh, James Durroh, Sean Adams, Dante Green; and sisters in law, Renee Phinisee-Winston, Laticia Phinisee, and Lashawn Raney; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation 1:00pm and Funeral 2:00pm Friday, May 17, 2024 at Grace Apostolic Church 1743 East Lakeview Ave.
