Lakisha Janese Kelsor was beautifully born into this life on October 5, 1976 in Newark, NJ to Jeffrey Harry, Morris and Gail D. Kelsor-Link. She departed this earthly life on December 16, 2017 at the age of 41.

 

As a child growing up in Columbus, Ohio she was affectionately nicknamed “cookie”. She attended Columbus Public Schools and was a graduate of East High School. She always excelled in her educational endeavors consistently achieving Dean’s list and academic accolades throughout. She was a graduate of Aveda Schools, and recently enrolled Capital University’s Nursing program. She work as and esthetician, STNA, office manager, and a bartender. She was a hard-working person, devoted mother, daughter, sister, cousin, confidante, and friend. She absolutely loved and adored Jermani and JaRhya.

 

Lakisha enjoyed the beauty of life and beautiful things, making her friends beautiful. If you haven’t had a Kisha Kelsor makeover, you missed out! She enjoyed traveling, entertaining, cooking for her friends and family. She was known for her sense of humor, no-nonsense attitude, candor, and honesty. to know her was to love “black barbie” and she will deeply be missed and never forgotten.

 

Lakisha is preceded in death by her father Jeffrey Morris, uncles Steven Morris, Richard Willis, Martin Willis, aunts Arnethia Pope, Billie Jean Parham, paternal grandmother Barbara J. Willis, maternal grandparents Nathaniel Kelsor and Doris Kelsor Shaw-Barnett, Alfred Barnett, uncle Ronald Eugene Kelsor, aunt Lisa Hampton, and God child Tenia Staples.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory with mother Gail and Dad Melvin E. Link Sr., daughter Jermani Mariah Newton-Kelsor, JaRhya Milan Newton-Kelsor, sisters Takita N. Kelsor, Lamesha McKelvey Wade, Kelly Lyles, Shamara Jacks, Trina White, Melecca White, Nicole Lenear, Cousins/sisters Takeiya Dean, Vikema Kelsor, brothers Melvin E. Link Jr., DeJon M. Link, William Brown, Melvin Cumberlander, cousin/brothers Marlon Kelsor, James Dean Jr., nieces Deveney Stovall, DeVonna Kelsor, Jai’den Link, Jasmina Link, aunts Pamela Dean, Dolly (Mike) Fryor, Marlene Link, Teresa (Rick) Willis, Pam Ryan, uncles Nate Kelsor, Jeremiah Kelsor, Maurice Kelsor, Andre Link, Shawn Link, William Link, Wardell Link, God mother Dannette Banks, God brother David Ector, God children Imauri King, Vaughn Stephenson, Troy Mason Thomas, Jaden Newton, Josiah Newton, Mark Newton Jr., 2nd mom Patricia Newton, special friends Nicole Brockington, Danielle Rubin, Dana Marie, Monique Giles, Brandy, Bop, Yanna, Dion C., D’lana Hunter, Kelly McNeal, Bruce Foster, Altovise Francois, and also a host of other relatives and friends.

Service will be held at Rehoboth Temple 1111 E. Long Street on December 23, 2017 wake at 10:00 and service at 11:00 AM
