Larry Leo Gore was born on March 3,1950 at 721 Stambaugh Ave in Columbus, Ohio and
transitioned to be with be the Lord on March 14, 2025 at the Wexner Heritage Rehabilitation Center on College Ave in Columbus Ohio. Larry was a prodigy of the Columbus Public School System where he attended Himendale and Fair Avenue Elementary Schools and was a 1968 graduate of Marion-Franklin High School. Larry served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged from service.
Larry is predeceased in death by his mother Helen Beatrice Gore; brother Anthony Keith Gore Sr; grandparents, Bishop Lester Leo and Mary Gore. He is survived by daughter Delesia Gore; sons Larry (Tonya) Gore Jr, Aaron Gore and Jeffrey (Pettress) Gore; sisters Pastor Gloria J. Burge, Celeste Gore and Barbara Gore (sister in love); 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; as well as a host of aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Deacon Gore accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age. He was a member of the St, James Pentecostal Church. Where he was ordained as a deacon under the leadership of Overseer Charlotte Gore Little. In 1998 he united with The House of Refuge for All People under the leadership of Apostle John W. Mills and most recently (October 2023) as senior Deacon of Times of Refreshing Christian Church under the leadership of his sister, Pastor Gloria J. Burge. Deacon Gore love to sing, and was a constant request on birthdays, Mother's Day and other special celebrations to sing "your are so beautiful to me. His favorite song was "Steal away to Jesus". And that's what he did when Jesus called him home shortly after celebrating his 75th birthday with his family and friends. He is absent from his body, but most assuredly he is present with the Lord.
Deacon Gore will without a doubt be missed by all who knew him. He was a jack of all trades, no matter who called him friends, neighbors, or even strangers but especially by his nieces and nephews, their Uncle Larry was always available. Even in the midnight hours Deacon Gore was called often to unlock the doors of the church, start the cars, look at the hot water tank, furnace, frozen water piper and he even gave people rides to work all you had to do was call and he was right there. He worked at WillGlo Services with his siter and brother William and Gloria Burge for 25 years until his health no longer permitted, but even still after that he continued to supervise the maintenance department with his nephew Ali Jones. Who can fill his shoes? Who can show the love that he gave? Who can give the time that he gave? Can you love Jesus the way he loved Jesus? Well I wonder.
