Born January 18, 1971, Lavon went home with God September 3, 2014. A graduate of Mifflin High School, Lavon served in the Navy Reserve of San Diego, CA as a Hospital Corpsman. He also studied Sociology/Social Work at the Atlanta Metropolitan College. In 2002, Lavon founded CatoStrophic Noize, a media company specializing in music production and sound engineering. In 2011, Lavon also founded The Vitamen Group, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to educating, empowering and encouraging vitality in the African-American male community. He served as the Executive Director. Lavon was a gifted vocalist and musical genius. He wrote and produced his album, Mind Over Music, in 2010. Other original compositions can be found on SoundCloud and iTunes. Additionally, Lavon was a longtime co-host of the Real Girls Rock radio show in Altanta, GA. Lavon's compassionate heart, unconditional outpouring of love, charismatic personality and zeal will truly be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. Preceded in death by grandfather, Willie Henry Harden; grandmother, Johnnie Mae Harden; mother, Willie Mae Cato; niece, Gianna Mae Cato; aunt, Charlene Harden and uncles, Mack Thompson and John Harden. Survived by daughter, Amaria P. Cato (Delores Cato); brother, Leon James Cato; sisters, Katawi Kaneka Cato and Jayme L. Young; nieces, Tori Marie Cato and Samantha Alexa Smith; nephew, Isaiah James-Jerell Grissett and a host of other family and friends.
