Lee Walker Jr.

Lee Walker Jr., better known as “Big June” was born January 6, 1936 in East Gulf, West Virginia to Lee Walker Sr. and Eilzabeth Marshall.

He attended Stratton High School in Beckley, West Virginia where he was a Boxing Champion. After graduation he joined the transitioned with an honorable discharge.

He was a skillful chef for many years at the Neil House in Downtown Columbus as well as serving in multiple culinary ventures in Houston Texas.

Lee is preceded in death by his parents, Lee Walker Sr. and Elizabeth Marshall; grandson, Quentin Walker; sisters, Phyllis Jeffries, and Loretta Hillman.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving sister, Janice Bishop; sons, Gregory (Brenda) Walker, Douglas Walker; stepchildren, Catherine, Larry, Niecy; 3 grandchildren, great grandchildren; 1 uncle, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, faithful friends, Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies Church family; his devoted medical staff and special friend Abby Jordan.

Visitation 11:00 AM and Funeral Service 12:00 PM Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, 870 St. Clair Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43201
