Lillian Maye

Lillian Maude Maye was born to Elijah Maye and Snowie Lee Robinson Maye on September 3, 1960. She was the sixth born of nine children; she took her place amongst her siblings and became the loving best friend we all know today. It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Lillian on Sunday, September 6, 2020, at the age of 60.

Lillian lived out her life in Columbus, Ohio. She married Charles Smith in the early eighties and birthed three wonderful children, Smeko, Ricco, and Margo Maye.

Lillian is predeceased by her husband, Charles Smith; father, Elijah Maye; mother, Snowie Lee Robinson Maye; brothers, Elijah (Tony) Maye, Ronnie Robinson-Maye, Terry Maye, and Gary Maye; and granddaughter, Riccia Maye.

Lillian Maye was definitely one of a kind, bringing life and excitement everywhere she stood. Although many know her from her earlier “fighting” years, it seems the older she got, the more she softened up but always stayed true as a fighter, for her family and dear friends. She enjoyed watching her shows and having conversations with her loved ones as she danced though life opening her heart and support to anyone who needed it.

Lillian always loved to show the ‘Peace’ sign when taking pictures. Bow she will forever hold the peace sign amongst her family of angels in heave. While her loss is felt by many and she will be greatly missed; we know she is in a better place, free from any pain and suffering.

Lilian will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Smeko (Miquel), Ricco (Jazz), and Margo (Justine); grandchildren, Marquan, RaNajha, Marai, and Mona; siblings, Carol Maye, Paulette Maye, Paul Maye, and Jessica Mackey; and a host of other family members and friends.

Private Services entrusted to MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery.
