In Loving Memory of Lisa Michelle Odimegwu

Lisa Michelle Odimegwu, born on August 1, 1968, in Buffalo, NY, journeyed to eternal rest on November 22, 2023, in Columbus, OH. She leaves behind an indelible mark on the hearts of her loved ones, as they mourn the loss of a cherished mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend.

Lisa, a proud African American, brought joy and love to all who knew her. Her unwavering dedication to her family was evident throughout her life. As a loving mother to her children, Jonathan Watson, Tamia Odimegwu, Charda Bender, Devante Brewer and bonus children, Jamerah Reaves, Jovan Kendrick and Gianni Lynch. Lisa poured her heart into nurturing, supporting, and guiding them on their respective paths. She will forever be remembered as their pillar of strength and source of inspiration.

Lisa’s infectious laughter and warm presence brightened the lives of all who surrounded her. She maintained a strong bond with her mother, Jacqueline Merritt, and cherished moments spent with her siblings, Anthony Watson, Ardandy Brown (Princess) and Tanya Watson. With her loving spirit, Lisa embraced the joys of being a grandmother to her beloved grandchildren: Atavion Woods, Kaden Odimegwu, Gianni Lynch Jr., Damani Brewer, Paris Bender, Trinadi Watson, and Anyeia Watson; She also leaves to cherish her memories, her niece, Sierra Townsel; and her nephew, Dominique Watson. She was looking forward to the birth of her first great grandchild, Jonathan, who is expected to arrive in January. Their laughter and joy brought her immeasurable happiness. She also leaves to cherish her memory her companion, William Kendrick.

Lisa was preceded in death by her father Barry Watson and son Jonathan Watson.

Lisa’s dedication to her craft was evident through her career as a dietitian at St. Ann’s Hospital. Her culinary skills brought comfort to countless patients and staff members alike. Colleagues remember her warmth and creativity in the kitchen, as she continuously strived to bring smiles to the faces of those she served.

Beyond her professional life, Lisa found joy in exploring the world. Whether it was strolling through the bustling streets of New York City, trying her luck at the vibrant casinos in Las Vegas, or basking in the beauty of Miami’s palm trees, Lisa relished every moment of her travels. She embraced new experiences with an open heart and a zest for life. In her quiet moments, Lisa found solace in the pages of books and the captivating world of TikTok, finding inspiration and entertainment in the digital realm.

Lisa’s unwavering faith led her to be an active member of Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church. She found solace and strength within the walls of the church, spiritually nourishing herself and fostering a deep connection with her community.

Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00 noon Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church 858 E. 3rd Ave. Lisa will be entombed at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Though we mourn the loss of Lisa’s vibrant presence in our lives, let us remember her contagious laughter, her unwavering love, and her legacy of cherishing family above all. In her memory, may we find solace, strength, and the inspiration to live each day to the fullest, just as she did.

Forever cherished, forever loved, Lisa Michelle Odimegwu will forever hold a place in our hearts. May her soul find eternal peace.
