Lloyd Gene Williams, Jr., age 80, passed away on Monday April 18, 2016 at his residence surrounded by wife, Children and family. Lloyd was born May 31, 1935 to Lloyd and Florence Williams. He attended Columbus City Schools and enlisted in U.S. Army serving 17 years as a Green Beret during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a owner of the first black security company called “East Side Security”, retired from Columbus City Schools and Willo Security. He also worked as a security Guard at GCL Protective Service.
He enjoyed his van “Night Dragon”, visiting family & friends. He could tell some of the most “silly” jokes you ever heard.
He is preceded in death by his parents ; stepmother Pearl Williams, brother DuShaune Williams and daughter Traci Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife Carolyn A. Williams, sons Roger (Lisa) Williams, Lamarr (Vanessa) Williams and Michael Hampton, daughters Tonette (Jim) Logwood, Denise (Warren) Love, Tonette (Callis) Kennedy, Devonna (Shug) Williams-Evans and Katrinnea (Dominic)Williams, sisters Shirley Douglas, Sylvia Davis and Paula Davis, sisters in law Shirley (Kenny) Langhorn, Kate Cox and Jean Hayes, brothers in law James, Marshall, Robert and Charles Sanders, and Cecil Douglas and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation 11:00am and Funeral 12:00 noon Tuesday April 26, 2016 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE 2500 Cleveland Ave.
