Lola Stewart

October 26, 1954 — August 7, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Lola Stewart who left this world on August 7, 2024, at the age of 69. Born on October 26, 1954, Lola was a beacon of faith and strength, and her legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Lola dedicated over 20 years of her life to the Bureau of Worker’s Compensation, where her meticulous work and unwavering commitment made her an essential part of the team. Yet, it was not just in her career that her impact was felt; she was the cornerstone of her family. A devoted mother to her three daughters, Priscilla, Judy, and Lashawn. Lola made countless sacrifices for her children and grandchildren, nurturing them with pure love and an indomitable spirit. You could often find her in the kitchen making soul food, with her favorite dishes including greens, cornbread, and black-eyed peas. When she wasn’t watching "The Andy Griffith Show" or "I Love Lucy," she was delighting in ordering her favorite things from QVC, filling her home with treasures that brought her joy. Lola's passion for sewing was only matched by her love for old school gospel music, which often filled the home as she created beautiful garments at her kitchen table.

She cherished the moments spent with her 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, imparting wisdom and values that will carry on for generations to come. A woman of deep faith, she instilled in her family the importance of education, hard work, and a close relationship with God. Her teachings and example will continue to inspire us all, reminding us of the strength of love and the power of faith.

Lola is survived by her three daughters, 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, three sisters, and one brother. While we mourn her loss, we take comfort in celebrating the life she lived and the profound impact she had on all of us. Rest in peace, dear Lola. Your love will remain in our hearts forever.
