Lora Deann Mickey

Lora Deann Mickey was born on Tuesday February 28, 1961 in Columbus, Ohio to Betty Lou Mickey and Ralph (Sonny) Smith, Jr. of Hillsboro, Ohio. Lora was the second oldest of five girls. Lora was loved by
everyone she that came in contact with.

Lora attended Linden McKinley High School. Lora was employed for many years at ODOT. Lora enjoyed life, family, laughing, dancing, getting her hair done, eating out at restaurants, having a good time and her red juice. Lora was known as the “One Hitter Quitter”. Lora was the fighter of the family. Anytime there was a problem, Lora showed up and solved the problem. Lora loved her dog Moka. Her special nickname from her oldest son is “Fat Baby”.

Lora has been battling health issues for several years. On Monday May 22, 2023 at Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, Lora Deann Mickey was called home to be with the Lord. We rejoice in knowing that Lora has been reunited with her Heavenly Father, both her parents, grandparents Ralph Smith, Sr and Davina ( Taylor) Mitchell of Hillsboro, Ohio; her two sisters Pamela and Thora Mickey, two grandchildren, two nephews and her dog Moka.

Lora leaves to cherish her everlasting memory her three sons, Obai Mickey, Quincy Rogers and Silas Hill of Columbus, Ohio. Her two sister’s Betty (Brad) Coleman of Chillicothe Ohio, and Sheree Mickey of Columbus, Ohio. Seven grandsons, nine granddaughters, four great – grandchildren, her only two nieces Shanetta and Monique, a host of nephews, extended family and many friends. A special friend of Lora’s and the family; Shonda Williamson.
