Loretta Alexander-Jones

Loretta Alexander-Jones, 69, died January 23, 2020 at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Loretta was born to Mack Albert Jones and Johnny Mae Jackson on January 16, 1951 in Man, WV. She retired from Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH. She enjoyed spending time with her family near and far.

Proceeded in death by her parents, Mack Albert Jones and Johnny Mae Jackson; sons, Eddie B. Alexander, Michael L. Alexander Jr., and stepson Antonio D. Wilson; brothers, Napoleon Jones, Levy Peoples Jr., and Fredrick Jones; and sister, Ramona Kay Tate.

Loretta was a kind, loving and beautiful person inside and out. She loved her family tremendously and would give her very last so they would have whatever they needed. There was never a day that she didn’t smile and give you a kiss no matter what her ailments were. It made her happy to see you smile.

Loretta will be remembered by her compassion, endless strength and how she she should’ve been acknowledged in the Guinness Book of World Records for the speed of her trigger finger.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Tamie (Michele) Williams of Hempstead, NY, Sabrina Slappy of Columbus, OH, and Toniette Scott of Columbus, OH; sisters, Linda Kay Jones and Evelyn Peoples of Columbus, OH, Francis Jones of Alabama, and Newatha Jones of Alabama; brothers, Quintin Jones of Columbia, SC, Frank Jones of Birmingham, AL, and Tyrone Jones of Mississippi; special cousins Kathy Cooper, Eva Boykins and Janice Thomas all of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Dominique Alexander, Earl Lynch, Jr., Mark Ellis, Tiara Calhoun, Loretta Slappy, Jasmine Slappy, Marquise Scott, Amari Scott, and Michael Williams, Jr.; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and her dog Capone.

Visitation 9:00AM and Funeral Service 11:00AM Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE EAST, 5456 E. Livingston Ave.

Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
