Louise A Windham

Louise Anice Windham was born on May 6, 1943, in Cleveland, OH, to the union of Thomas James Majors and Carrie Lue (Lindsay) Majors. She was the oldest child to this union.

She graduated in 1961 from Mansfield Senior High School, in Mansfield, OH, and went on to further her education at North Central Technical College (NCTC), and received her Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) degree in 1979. She worked at Mansfield General Hospital, currently Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital, for 22 years, and Winchester Nursing Home for 10 years before retiring. She was a lifetime member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

She enjoyed traveling, shopping, decorating her home, gardening, fishing, going to the movie theater, serving the Lord, and having a special bond with her grand and great-grandchildren. Louise was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Mansfield, OH, where she was a Deaconess. She was a longtime member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, in Mansfield, OH, where she served as a Deaconess, Church Nurse, and Choir Member.

Louise is survived by her daughters, Ronda (Stanley) Jordan of Virginia Beach, VA and Tonya (Gregory) Jackson of Mansfield; sister, Deloris Henley of Mansfield; five (5) grandchildren, Ja’Brell (Tenisha) Windham Sr., of Mansfield, OH, Chalonte’ (Marcus) Coffee of East Dallas, TX, Delonte’ Windham of Youngstown, OH, Telae and Stacia Jordan of Virginia Beach, VA; seven (7) great grandchildren, Ja’Brell Windham Jr. of Mansfield, OH, Ty’Karean, Jakoy and Tylejia’ Windham of Shelby, OH, Christian Coffee of East Dallas, TX, and A’Mariana Windham and Zion Windham of Mansfield, OH; brother-in-law, Harris Windham (Charlene) of Corona, CA; sisters-in-law, Brenda Windham, Marvelene Windham, Linda Windham, Marcia Rucker, Mira Windham, Brinda D. Windham, all of Mansfield, OH; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt Windham; parents, Thomas Majors and Carrie Lue (Lindsay) Majors; her sister, Berna Joyce (Majors) Jackson.

Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Friday, March 1, 2024 at Providence Baptist Church, 112 W 6th. Interment at Mansfield Cemetery. Ministry of Comfort entrusted to MARLAN J.
