Mother Madliane Harris

Madliane Harris, born in Columbus, Georgia, on December 9, 1927, Madliane dedicated over three decades of her life as a clerical worker in the medical field for Dr. Clarence M. Gallagher, retiring with grace and diligence. She was a dedicated member of the Hebrew Missionary Baptist Church for over 75 years, where her presence on the Usher Board and Mother’s Board resonated with love and devotion.

Madliane’s creative spirit shone through in her hobbies, whether it was solving crossword puzzles, painting, drawing, or knitting. Her vibrant personality and warmth touched the lives of many, embodying the true essence of love and compassion.

She found happiness in the love she shared with her late husband Hollis Harris, and her children; the memory of her legacy will be cherished by her sons James L. Adams, Walter Harris, Gregory Harris, and Norman Harris. She also leaves behind a brother, McArthur Johnson, 22 beloved grandchildren, 23 adored great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a large extended family and circle of friends.

Madliane’s legacy lives on through the joy she brought to those around her, and her life will be celebrated with gratitude and love. She will always remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
