Mahallia Drew

Mahallia (Lady Drew) was born September 5, 1939 in Norwood, Georgia.

She lived in Atlanta, Ga and relocated to Columbus, Ohio. She was a member of New Generation and Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was one of the mothers at Mt. Zion Baptist church and served as an active member of the Missionary Society at the church. She received her Cosmetology Degree in 1964. After receiving her degree, she worked at Hoods Beauty Shop for several years, before opening her own hair salon.

She was very active in the community and spent many hours visiting the elderly and sick. As the Matriarch of the family, she was deeply involved in all family matters and was a leader and inspiration for all family members.

Proceeded in death by her parents, George and Rosetta Lee, husband(s) William Drew and Fred Veasey, son Ronald, 3 brothers, Doyal, Robert and Dub, 3 sisters, Beautt, Isabelle, and Carrie.

She leaves to cherish her memory sister Dorothy (Ron) Jacobs, son(s) Ricky (Sabine) and Willie Veasey, daughter(s) Marionette (Dennis) Murphy, Sonji (Michael) Slade, Makeia (Lenell) Nutt, special daughters Cheryl (William) Johnson, Susan Bass, Deborah Snead, in-laws Wallace (Mattie) Veasey and Robert (Stella) Lee, close friend Della Rodgers, 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation 10:00an and Funeral 11:00am Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church, 858 E. 3rd Ave.
