Malcolm Armistead Jr. was born September 4, 1974, and peacefully transitioned on February 19, 2025, at 50. He was a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, father, fiancé, uncle, grandfather, and friend. He touched the lives of many with his love, smile, jokes, dancing, and skating.
Malcolm’s favorite inspirational saying was,
“God is working on us all!”
Malcolm attended Beechcroft High School in Columbus, Ohio, and previously worked at The Ohio State University Medical Center and Scioto Services.
Malcolm is survived by his father, Malcolm Armistead Sr., and his dear sisters, Malissa Holmes, Malrissa (Rick) Jones, and Malcrissa (Tyrell) Zimmerman. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his three children, Malcolm Armistead III, Kendall Love, and Malakhi Armistead, as well as his fiancée, Candice Love. He was a proud grandfather to Nasir and Cash.
Malcolm was also a caring uncle to six nieces and three nephews, who will forever hold his lessons & memories close to their hearts.
Malcolm was a special brother to Eugene West and will leave behind a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his cherished mother, Pastor Diane Dillard-Armistead, and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Malcolm Armistead Jr. was deeply family-oriented and always showed up for his children, nieces, nephews, and younger cousins. He frequently attended family gatherings, and his love and support for his family was unwavering.
He was a mentor to many and had a prominent presence in the skating community. He was known for his passion and striding skills as “Macky Miyagi” of Stride Nation.
Malcolm's vibrant spirit, infectious laughter, kindness, and forehead kisses will forever be missed!
