Mamie L. Miniefield Miller

Mamie Lee Miniefield-Miller was born on March 1, 1935 in Steubenville, Ohio to the union of Arthur and Mattie Culbreath. On Monday, April 20, 2020 Mamie answered the call of her heavenly father.

Mamie attended Steubenville Public High School “Big Red.” She was a Steward and Missionary and sung in the senior choir at Church Quinn Memorial AME of Steubenville. She loved to read scriptures. She worked for the Health Department vital statistics department in Steubenville. One of her jobs she loved was working with the children at the daycare. She moved to Columbus, worked in the clerk office at OSU. She also worked at Deshler Elementary School.

Mamie was a widow twice. Her first marriage was to Otis Miniefield Sr. and from this union they raised three children, Otis Jr., James, and Dorothy.

Mamie is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Mattie Culbreath; brothers, Arthur Jr., Ronald, Sylvester, and Raymond Culbreath; sisters, Bertha and Mattie Culbreath; and daughter, Dorothy Miniefield Alfred.

Mamie leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Otis Jr., James (Tanya) Miniefield; step daughters, Mari (Kenneth) Armstrong and Veronica Jackson; grandchildren, Sherri Dudley Pleasant, Omeke (Shon) Petteway, Tyla Dawson, Sherean Dudley, Calston Dudley, Kyle Miniefield, Myoshie McGee, and Jamisha Miniefield; great grandchildren, Jamaal Petteway, Ontasia Petteway, Shane Robinson, Shayien Robinson, Shyra Robinson, and Traymar Dudley-Molten; sisters, Patricia Culbreath, Barbara Holmes, and Jeanette (Norman) Archie; brother, Clarence Culbreath; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

Mamie will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Visitation 10:00 AM and Funeral Service 11:00 AM Thursday, April 30, 2020 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH 2500 Cleveland Ave.

Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
