Margaret H. Gaddy

Missionary Margaret House Gaddy, 86, was born June 27, 1936 to the late Arthur Sr. and Cassie House in Leesburg, Florida. She lived in Wooster, OH and then Mansfield, OH for the past 50 years. Missionary Gaddy completed her earthly journey on Friday, December 23, 2022 at the Conard House in Mansfield, OH.

On February 25, 1953, Margaret married the love of her life, the late Elder Canty Gaddy, in Dade City, Florida. Together they parented Cassandra Yvonne and Canty Eugene.

Missionary Gaddy dedicated her life to the Lord at an early age and raised a God fearing family. When her husband, Elder Gaddy, accepted his calling into the ministry as an Evangelist and a Pastor, Missionary Gaddy was right by his side as a praying woman of God.

Missionary Gaddy served in the Youth and the Sunday School Departments for the Churches of God in Christ in various capacities within Trinity Gospel COGIC, the Mansfield District, and the Ohio North 1st Jurisdiction. She was known for generating excitement for Sunday School by introducing Sunday School Month which was held for the whole month of February each and every year. As the 1st Lady of Trinity Gospel COGIC, she was known for her elegance. She had a distinctive way of clapping her hands, shouting in her heels, and singing praises to the Lord. Even though she was regal and elegant in appearance, she had a very loving and caring spirit for all people. She always encouraged others to continue in their journey with the Lord.

Missionary Gaddy was a giver and shared wisdom with everyone she met. Also, she was a hard worker. She was the head cook for Wooster College preparing delicious meals for the faculty and students. She had a heart for helping young women with children and demonstrated this while working for the Richland County Head Start Program and for Ocie Hill. In those organizations, she helped young women and families to establish and to pursue their life goals in healthy environments. Not only was she a worker in the vineyard for the Lord, she also worked in her garden and flowerbeds keeping her yard filled with beautiful bright flowers and delicious vegetables. In addition, she was an avid walker around her neighborhood and Liberty Park for exercise.
