Margaret Marie Brown

Margaret Marie Brown, age 98 and the matriarch of the Brown family, was born on January 10, 1924.
She went to sleep on May 21, 2022, at her daughter Barbara’s house when God gave her wings to fly away home.

Margaret was one of 13 children born to James Pannell and Sallie Ann (Giles) Pannell, whom preceded her in death. She was born in Tames, WV. As a young girl, the family moved to Gilliam, WV where she attended school. There she met Thomas Edward Brown, Sr. whom she later married and from that union they had eight children, (4) boys and (4) girls. She accepted Jesus at a young age. She was a faithful member to Bethany Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor A. Wilson Wood, until she had to take care of her husband, who suffered from Alzheimer’s. She took care of him until his passing in 2002 and by then she had developed Dementia. Even with her Dementia, she was still Margaret. Compassionate, caring, loving, and beautiful with a smile that would light up a room and a laugh that you could never forget.
She is preceded in death by: parents (James and Sallie Ann Pannell), husband (Thomas Edward Brown, Sr.), sons (Don, Thomas Jr., and Glenn Brown) sister (Abbie Morris), brothers (Samuel, Fred, James Jr., John (Leslie), June, Daniel, and Nathaniel Pannell), son-in-law (John Hillmon), grandsons (Phillip and Eric Hillmon).
