Martin L. Mitchell

Martin Lee Mitchell was born September 13, 1971 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Willow Mae Mitchell and Raeford Earl Hooker.

He attended Gladstone Elementary School, Dominion Middle School and Northland High School. As a youth he enjoyed BMX bike riding, skateboarding and break dancing. Martin was also a rapper and his stage name was M.A.D.D. Later he formed a group called the Noise Boys. He was also co-owner of Str8up Recordz. From there he was known to everyone as Uncle M.A.D.D.

Martin was a caring and loving person who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Martin gave all his nieces, nephews and babies of friends special nicknames and remembered them all. He loved video games, politics and listening to music. Uncle M.A.D.D. was a great man, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. He was a pillar in the community. He touched the lives of many youth, young men and women in the neighborhood. Martin never met a stranger and always left everyone with a word of encouragement and wisdom.

Martin leaves to cherish his memory his children; Marjuan Mitchell, Marshawn Mitchell, Kateira Mitchell, and Kalli Mitchell. His siblings; Charles Mitchell Sr., Crystal Jones, Cynthia Ward (Derrick), Alysia Underwood, Raeford Mitchell, William Hooker, and Ralph Carter (Alexis). His grandchildren; Mi’Airah Mitchell, Carmelo Mitchell and Malachi Ervin. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Leaving a great legacy, Uncle M.A.D.D. will be loved and missed by all
