Marvin Beauford, a cherished resident of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away on September 22, 2024. Born on May 9, 1942, in Garnett South Carolina, to Carrie Beauford and Woodrow Solomon, Marvin lived a life marked by service, leadership, and a deep love for his family and community.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Marvin served his country with distinction, earning several commendations for his dedication and leadership. Marvin retired from the 179th Air National Guard. His commitment to service extended beyond his military career, as he became a respected leader within the Mansfield community, serving on several leadership councils and contributing to numerous local initiatives. Marvin received his bachelor’s degree in business from Ashland University while employed at The Ohio Brass Company where he served as the Human Resource Manager. During this time, he was selected as 1 of 24 business leaders to the first Chamber of Commerce Leadership Unlimited Council. He continued his career in human resources at Citation and Miami Systems Corporation before serving as the Diversity Manager at Gorman Rupp where he retired.
Marvin is survived by his loving wife, Toni Beauford and daughter Jamie Fritz (Justin) and his daughter Michele Beauford and his son Stacy DeMarv Beauford (Renee). Grandsons Tyler Marvin Beauford, Kyrne MarVell Beauford and Nyle Marvlan Beauford. Brother Elijah (Vicki), Brother Walter Beauford, and Sister Jackie Beauford Edwards. Sister-in-law Dixie Jacklitch, Brother-in-law Marion Solomon and a host of extended family members, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings Elizabeth Solomon, Levi Beauford, Earle Beauford, Steve Beauford, Patricia Beauford, and Linda Beauford.
A memorial service will be held at Mt Hermon Baptist Church located at 292 Charles Street in Mansfield on Friday, September 27, 2024. Viewing will begin at 10 am with the service to follow at 11 am. In place of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Richland New Hope in Marvin’s honor.
Marvin’s life was a testament to the values of dedication, community, and family. He will be deeply missed.
