Mary D. Howard

Mary D. Howard, age 96, was born June 28, 1920 to the late James and Mammie Dabbs in Pope, TN. At the age of 15, Mary married Tony Howard and to that union they had seven children. Mary and her husband relocated ot Columbus, Ohio in 1950.

Mary dedicated her life ot Christ at a young age. She was a faithful member of Power of Prayer Ministries for over 20 years under the leadership of Bishop Colette Jones. While there she was the Church Mother and over the Prayer Breakfast. Mary enjoyed being a nurse aide for many years. Her heart passion was feeding the homeless which she did for many years until her health permitted.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon Eugene Howard; daughter, Viola Howard; sons, Jimmy Howard, Walter Howard and Edward Howard.

She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Larry Howard; daughters Betty Shute and Marie (Terry) Sharpe, 15 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation 10:00am and Funeral 11:00am Tuesday December 6, 2016 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE NORTH, 2500 Cleveland Ave.  Interment at Evergreen Burial Park.
